Waterleaf Solutions: Your One Stop RFP Shop

Waterleaf Solutions, located in Newport, Kentucky specializes in writing responses to RFPs to secure contracts for small businesses and non-profits in the area. For those who are uninitiated in the contract and proposal space, A request for proposal (RFP) is a business document that announces a project, describes it, and solicits bids from qualified contractors to complete it. Most organizations prefer to launch their projects using RFPs, and many governments always use them. When using an RFP, the entity requesting the bids is responsible for evaluating the feasibility of the bids submitted, the financial health of the bidding companies, and each bidder’s ability to undertake the project.

Some technical stuff, which is why it’s important to have some one who knows the industry and can help guide you through it. This is where Melissa Frazier and Waterleaf Solutions come in! With over 20 years of writing and proposal crafting experience, Melissa aims to help walk local businesses through the RFP process and secure their own contracts!

Q: Who does your business serve?

A: Waterleaf Solutions tailors their services to small business and non-profits who are trying to compete in the public sector. Often times small business owners attempt to write and submit RFPs on their own. Which can be a lengthy and problematic process if you aren’t well-versed in it. Small business owners already have enough on their plate as it is, so we want to serve that demographic and take that extra weight off their shoulders.

Q: What is the goal of your business?

A: Waterleaf Solutions aims to help small businesses and non-profit organizations secure contracts through the means of proposal writing. This means helping them navigate the rather confusing proposal process step by step while remaining competitive in their markets.

Q: What does your business have to offer that is unique in your industry?

A: Waterleaf solutions is a one-of-a-kind business is in this industry. There aren’t currently any other freelance RFP writers in the area to the best of my knowledge. I was a Linguistics professor for a few years so I have a very wide writing background. I’ve written academic papers, requests for academic grants and was a proposal writer for 10 years prior to starting Waterleaf. So essentially I have 20 years of writing experience from a variety of backgrounds. It has helped me to not only have a grasp on scientific and technical terms, but to take these terms and explain them in a way which people who aren’t involved in the proposal process can understand.

Q: How does your business contribute to the culture of the Covington/NKY area?

A: My goal is to really support small businesses in the community. I want to help contribute to this thriving community and help it continue to grow. Proposals are listed nationwide so the work could be going anywhere. I want to use Waterleaf Solutions to bring that work into the northern Kentucky area.
