Getting to know the CBC Staff, Executive Director Pat Frew

The Covington Business Council has a small staff of three employees. Let’s get to know Executive Director, Pat Frew.

Tell us about your hometown and childhood.

I was raised in a small Eastern OH community.  I always joke that my upbringing is like a Dr. Seuss book:  “I’m Pat Frew, the son of Hugh and Mary Lou Frew and I’m from Scio (CY-oh), OH.”

Tell us about your career path

As a kid I wanted to be the play-by-play radio announcer for the Pittsburgh Pirates when I grew up. And while I started my career announcing high school sports in small town radio, I gravitated to radio news (including a short stint at WLW-my radio name was Pat Roberts) before leaving that industry to pursue other interests.

What excites you most about the CBC?

I realized about twelve years ago that I was destined to run a membership based business organization and fortunately have had the opportunity to fulfill that through the CBC.  I am a numbers driven person and have greatly enjoyed helping the Council to see tremendous growth in membership, revenue and most of all in supporting small businesses and being very focused on helping owners grow their enterprises.

What hobbies, books, movies have you enjoyed this past month?

Exercise, getting back in my boot camp routine and wanting the latest season of the Amazon Prime police series BOSCH.

What is next on your “to do list”?

To help local businesses return to a new way of serving customers and making people money.

Tell us something about you that few people know.

I played the lead role of Tevye in my high school production of Fiddler On the Roof.
