CBC Welcomes New Chair, Four New Board Members

FEBRUARY 23, 2023/COVINGTON,KY—Jay Fossett has been elected Chair of the Covington Business Council (www.cbcky.com) Board of Directors.  Jay serves as City Administrator for Dayton, KY but grew up in Covington as a Holmes High School graduate and will soon be relocating his residence in Covington. Jay also previously served as Covington’s City Manager. Jay’s term as Chair is for two years.

Several new civic/business leaders joined the CBC Board:

  • Cara Brooks, Duke Energy, Economic Development Manager
  • Julie Hopkins, Strauss Troy, Attorney at Law
  • Kenneth Webb, Senior Vice President, Republic Bank
  • Will Weber, President and CEO, Southbank Partners

The terms for the new board members are not to exceed ten years.  The Covington Business Council is a membership-based business advocacy group whose mission is to advocate for a healthy business climate in Covington. In the past 12 years, the CBC has more than tripled in membership from 130 to approximately 490 member companies, mirroring the City’s growth. Between 2021 and 2022, Covington announced more than 3,700 new jobs, approximately $143-million in private investment and filled 422,000 square feet of office space. The Council hosts more than 100 educational and networking events annually.
