Member Spotlight: Northern Kentucky Community Action Center

We recently touched base with Rhonda Chisenhall, Vice President of Community Development, Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission (NKCAC).  Its mission is to help low income individuals and families develop the knowledge, opportunities, and resources they need to achieve self-reliance.

What are you biggest challenges now during this pandemic?

Our biggest challenge is meeting the needs of the families we serve.  Many of them have been laid off, or have had to stop working because of lack of child care.  And many families coming to us now have never had to seek assistance in the past.  Families are needing assistance with food, rental assistance, and additional utility assistance beyond what we can provide currently.

What do you need most at this time?

Funding to help us to pay for some of these emergency needs that are families are facing.
