CBC Committees

We encourage all of our members to be engaged with the CBC. Below is the information regarding our current CBC committees. If you are interested in serving on one of our committees, please reach out to Pat Frew, Executive Director at pfrew@cbcky.com.

Advocacy Committee

First Friday of the Month, 8:00 - 9:00am

Purpose:  To inform committee members about issues that might require Council endorsement of initiatives/legislation consistent with the CBC’s mission—advancing issues that enhance the city’s business climate.  

Annual Dinner Committee

Meets semi-monthly from May to date of event; Days/Times TBD

The dinner is the largest annual CBC fundraiser and has seen strong exponential growth from 75 attendees in 2010 to more than 300 currently.   

Concierge Committee

Meets the first Wednesday each month at 10:00am

Concierge welcomes new members that have joined the CBC, and also follows up with new members to keep them engaged. The Concierge Committee also assists at CBC events with registration, welcoming guests, connecting members, etc.  

Finance Committee

Meets second Thursday of the month at 2:00pm.

Oversee the finances of the CBC.    

Golf Outing Committee

Meets monthly to semi-monthly at various locations.

This group organizes the CBC’s second largest annual fundraiser, the Annual Golf Scramble at Twin Oaks, the 2nd Thursday of MayThis event has grown over the past five years increasing in participants from 60 in 2010 to more than 150 currently.  This committee also organizes the new Golf Social held in October each year 

Marketing Committee

Meets second Wednesday of the month at 10:00am

Purpose:  To help CBC position itself better as the leading business advocacy organization in Covington in better assisting local businesses and maximizing CBC profitability so resources can be poured back into the business environment.    

Membership Committee

Meets first Thursday of the month at 11:30am.

Purpose:  To aid in the recruitment and retention of Council Members.  Activities include reaching out to non-members for recruitment purposes, and also discussing ways to engage and retain members. Committee also discusses luncheon topics and content, as well as monthly event ideas (hard hat tours, socials, etc).
