As a caregiver, you need care, too.
When someone close to us is facing serious illness we begin to define ourselves as caregivers. For many becoming a caregiver offers connection, honor and the opportunity to express how deeply we care about our loved one.
Taking care of a loved one who is seriously ill often come with new demands and unfamiliar tasks, and most caregivers don’t receive education and training. Bluegrass Care Navigators is here to share our years of experience and insights, as well as our helping hands to build your caregiving skills and confidence.
From sharing educational videos and tip sheets, to hands-on teaching, to giving you a break from caregiving duties, our expert team is available to support you in the important role of caregiver.
Write a plan to make your health care wishes known.
If you were unable to communicate your wishes about your health care, would your loved ones know exactly what you want – or don’t want – when it comes to treatments and measures to preserve your life? Who would you want to speak for you about your preferences if you were unable?
“Advance Directives” is a term used for the written instructions a person creates to convey their wishes regarding medical treatment if they’re unable to express decisions themselves.
Plan your end-of-life care well in advance and share your plan with your loved ones, your physician and your attorney before a health care crisis happens. Contact Bluegrass Care Navigators if you would like assistance with creating Advance Directives.
