The Northern Kentucky Convention Center opened its doors in 1998 and has had the opportunity to host many memorable events. Graduations, Charity Gala’s, Corporate meetings, Cheer, Dance and Gymnastic Competitions, Artisan Fairs, Local, Regional and Global Industry based events just to name a few.
Over the past six months, the Center took on a different role as the hospitality and events industry closed. From partnering with Kenton County, Welcome House, and the Emergency Shelter of NKY to provide an immediate haven for the homeless from the bitter cold while social distancing, to partnering with Kenton County for socially distanced space for the elections, providing a location for vaccinations and assisting the Commonwealth with a satellite location for unemployment claims. The pandemic has impacted the Center in numerous ways.
Join us on July 15th as Convention Center Executive Director, Gretchen Landrum describes the challenges her organization faces emerging into a post-pandemic environment. These include continuing to plan for the Center’s long-term future expansion needs and partnering with the City of Covington and community leaders who are meticulously planning the largest development in the City’s history as part of the former IRS site next door.
“The CBC has provided me the opportunity to network with other local business leaders. Being new to the area this has become a valuable resource.”
