Join us as we tour Covington’s Cathedral Square. We will begin with a visit to St. Mary’s Park, before proceeding over to the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption. Modeled after Notre Dame, construction of the cathedral began in 1894 under the direction and vision of Bishop Paul Maes, the third Bishop of the Diocese of Covington. While most of the construction and decoration was completed by 1915, much of the work envisioned by Bishop Maes remained to be completed by future generations.
On August 12th, Cathedral Historian Stephen Enzweiler will highlight the completed façade, most recently unveiled by current Bishop Roger Foys and the faithful of Covington. Our tour will also include viewing of the Frank Duveneck murals, the mosaic stations of the cross, the cathedral gardens and more!
After the tour, we will convene at the Covington Latin School for a social.
“The CBC has provided me the opportunity to network with other local business leaders. Being new to the area this has become a valuable resource.”
