Annual Dinner

2022 Annual Dinner - The Capstone to our 50th Anniversary Celebration!

 Last year's dinner not only celebrated the CBC's Golden Year, but also commemorated the great success and growth that Covington has seen over the last 50 years. During the dinner, CBC Executive Director, Pat Frew, briefly touched upon the accomplishments of the organization during the year:
  • Hosted a series of special events during the Golden Anniversary year including a breakfast recounting the CBC’s history along with honoring other groups celebrating special birthdays this year, a luncheon on April 14 (the actual CBC birthday) during a week of 50% off restaurant and bar specials along with the Annual Dinner which included video interviews with former CBC staff and volunteers;
  • Funded the planting and maintenance of more than 80 oversized planters along Madison Avenue between 3rd and 7th Streets at a cost of $27,000;
  • Invested $5,000 in supporting the BLINK projection light show which prominently featured Covington
  • Supported state funding of a $15 million Life Science building in Covington
  • Launched a special interest group for bars and restaurants called “Food For Thought” allowing businesses to share ideas and struggles which led to legislation reducing liquor license costs and creating a larger pool of servers for the industry;
  • Established a fund with Horizon Community Fund benefitting causes in the CBC Foundation
  • Took the first steps in preparing a master plan for wayfinding with the assistance of the Haile Foundation that will create traditional and technology-based signage throughout the City.
