"Hiring Adults With Disabilities: Creating Dividends for Employers Seeking to Retain a Dedicated Workforce”
Join us for the next CBC quarterly Education Forum, brought to you by St. Elizabeth Healthcare, as we explore how special needs adults can provide answers to local employers seeking hard-working dedicated employees. In the past employers have expressed reluctancy to hire workers with disabilities. At the forum we will explore the advantages in hiring adults with disabilities which include tax credits, free training and enhanced retention. We will also learn about the need for increased funding for disabled adult workers in order to receive more matching federal training funds. A panel studying the subject will include:
·Stacey Meyer, Redwood Business Development & Community Inclusion Manager
·Jennifer Wells, Director of Vocational and Educational Programs, The Point
·Christine Dameron, 3 G’s Inc, a company hiring such adults
This event is targeted for businesses seeking a stronger workforce and elected leaders who can provide legislative support and funding for this important untapped employment source.
The venue will be the Life Learning Center, 20 W. 18th. This event is free but we would appreciate knowing you plan to attend. Free parking is available in the adjacent lot. A light Continental Breakfast will be served
